This is one of my favorite paintings in National Gallery of Art. While I was watching this painting, it seemed that Mrs. Iselin was staring at me. The most scary thing was, whenever which direction I stood and watched, Mrs. Iselin was glaring at me all the time. She looked so dignified, arrogant and pride with the black sparkling silky dress. But her ruddy cheeks made me know easily that she must have been a very beautiful girl.

Poem

Watching this painting

She was staring at me

I stood and watched

She was still glaring

She looked dignified, arrogant and proud

With the black sparking silky dress

I could know from her ruddy cheeks

She must have been a beautiful girl
