1. Concrete Experiences
Today was still the writing workshop but with comfortable music. We revised our Education Philosophy with incorporating technology which we learned from NOVA Startalk and integrating 5Cs standards. Also, we selected and edited our best learning log. Why did we do the revision and writing since we could do by ourselves after class? I think it’s because of the sense of participation. Students can feel that they are one part of the course and the assignment while they do something in class. So I think this is a kind of student-centered strategy.

“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt.”—Leonardo da Vinci.

Before visiting National Gallery of Art, I couldn’t feel what’s Da Vinci’s meant. I will write a blog about the day we went to National Gallery of Art and another museum.

<Dreams> Langston Huges 1902-1967

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Then we began to draw our imagination of this poem and this is my work.

a tree, several clouds, a short wall, a river, mountains, and some sheep

I think this is my life and expectation of the future. It seems the clouds will soon be blew off, and the sun is going to shine in the near future. But I sill have to cross the short river and wall. The grass is growing and the sheep are just around. My mood is peaceful and full of hope. This is really a reflection of my self. I think I can do everything better no matter how hard it comes.
